ABOUT BEAMS & TIMBER
Beams & Timber has been helping Kiwis build fences worth being proud of since 1993.
It started when our founders Julie and Graeme bought their first sawmill in Tuakau. Graeme had a background in fencing and a clear idea of how post and rail could be done better. After years of development, hands-on investment in the right equipment, and more than a few lessons learned along the way, the INTERLOCK® system was born — a kitset fencing system that locks together without nails or screws, looks sharp from day one, and is still looking good decades later.
We launched INTERLOCK® at the 2004 Fieldays® and haven’t looked back. In 2019, Peter Till took over ownership and continues to push the same standard Julie and Graeme set: premium timber, straight answers, and a product you can genuinely be proud of.
With over a century of combined experience across our team, we know timber. We know what makes it fail, what makes it last, and what makes it look great for decades. That’s why we reject around 20% of what we start with — because getting it right the first time saves everyone time and money in the long run.
We’re 100% Kiwi-owned, located at Waikato, and our timber is 100% sustainably grown right here in New Zealand, and we’re genuinely proud of both.
